As part of the X2 development program, Red Sea has established new criteria and standards for the way its protein skimmers are rated. Both models come with an easy ratings guide reflecting required skimming performance rather than simply converting pump flow rates into suggested aquarium volume.

Hang-on kit included
All Berlin X2 models include a hang-on kit as standard, enabling the in-sump configuration to be converted quickly and easily for hang-on aquarium setups. 
 

Red Sea's patented Triple-Pass™ maximizes the water-air contact time inside the skimmer reaction chamber, stripping the aquarium water of even the smallest traces of organic pollutants, while minimizing the external dimensions and footprint of the skimmer.

By forcing the water-air mixture along a circuitous route, the Berlin X2 achieves a total surface area equal to that of much larger conventional skimmers.
